This book really is awesome!! Although targeted at 8-12 year olds, there are many messages in here that apply to anyone of any age. Written in a very accessible style, full of interaction, humour and brilliant advice. In Diary of a Brilliant Kid: Top Secret Guide to Awesomeness, the authors, as well as sharing so many other important ideas, also encourage young people to focus on breathing;

‘Spend 3 minutes breathing well five times a day’

For many this may be a novel suggestion, but such a valuable practice to take into adult life.

This is followed by encouraging them to be a role model of happiness and positivity and to develop a positive attitude of mental wealth by living by the principles in the book and by educating others.

This is a wonderful book to share; as a parent with your children, and at a time when many teachers are struggling with motivating and inspiring young people within a narrow and restrictive curriculum this book is upbeat, positive and inspiring, like a burst of sunshine, it should be a set book for all!

Hot Brands Cool Places Review
We love our visits to the beautiful Scottish island of Mure, and this is another very welcome return. What we love is the way that Jenny paints such a realistic picture of the island and its characters that you feel it’s quite possible to take a boat and visit.

An Island Christmas is both poignant and heart-warming and as our days get shorter and colder, makes this a wonderful weekend read. We loved it. Highly Recommended!
