Synopsis: Rosemary Shrager who is the star of TV’s School For Cooks shows you how to create and serve fantastic food in your own home. Rosemary shows how presentation is key creating a ‘beautiful picture on a plate’. School for Cooks demonstrates how to master the basics, how to use your imagination and to experiment, and how to present and serve classic, delicious food.
As a chef, who is largely self-taught Rosemary understands that replicating haute cuisine in your home can be daunting. But by sharing her expertise, and her love and enthusiasm for great food, she shows how to marry high quality ingredients with the skills and techniques that turn good dishes into really great dishes.
Hot Brands Verdict
Rosemary’s passion for food is clearly demonstrated in this really useful book, with her easy down to earth style she takes you through how to prepare really tasty Soups and Starters, Fish, Poultry, Meat, Vegetables and Accompaniments, Desserts, Bread and finally a Basics chapter which helps you prepare a variety of stocks, pastry, and sauces. There are absolutely delicious recipes; we loved Scallops in Puff Pastry with Mushrooms and a Madeira Sauce, the very tempting Strawberry and Lemon Mille-feuille, and the deceptively simple looking, but tricky to make Tuiles. This is a gem of a book, perfect for someone learning to cook, or as a handbook for experienced cooks.
