Synopsis: In The Provence Cure for the Brokenhearted, recently widowed Heidi is still mourning the loss of her husband and travels with Abbott, her obsessive-compulsive eight-year-old son, and Charlotte, her intolerably jaded sixteen-year-old niece, to spend the summer repairing their family home in a small village in the south of France. There, Heidi discovers some fascinating truths about her family. When an enigmatic Frenchman from Heidi’s childhood appears, the scene is set for a journey through love, loss, and healing amid the lavender fields, warm winds and pistou soup of Provence. This is a charming novel about family and forgiveness, and with picturesque Provence as a setting, the book will appeal to those looking for an entertaining holiday read.

Hot Brands Cool Places Verdict
This is such a beautiful book, it’s one of those books that you just want to read quietly, curled up, absorbing a chapter at a time. It is poignant, achingly sad in places and joyous in others. But all the time the descriptions of the scenery transport you to Provence, and you live each day with this family. This isn’t a book you race to finish, like a wonderful French meal; you want to savour it, because you don’t want it to end. This would make a most wonderful movie! One of our favourite novels this year, we loved it! Highly Recommeded!
