From our bespoke production facilities in Scotland, we offer a range of high quality slate tableware products, ranging from slate trivets and slate tablemats to slate coasters and slate clocks. Each item of slate tableware is carefully packaged in stylish black presentation boxes and can be bought as exceptional, long-life, personal gifts of the highest quality.
As well as making unique gifts, Just Slate is also widely used by restaurants, hotels and chefs. Michelin-starred chef Gordon Ramsay widely uses the product range – with 500 placemats recently being air freighted for the opening of his New York “London” restaurant last year.

Just Slate started life in 1998 as an offshoot business of a traditional “roof slater” and has since grown to become the key supplier of slate tableware products across the UK.
The production process firstly involves selecting flat unblemished slate before the slate is then work on by skilled craftsmen in a traditional method using slate knifes to form into shapes fit for purpose.
To finish the slate goes through various stages of cleaning and oiling before foam backing is added and finally packed into its presentation box.
2009 is the Year of the Homecoming in Scotland – in celebration of the 250th anniversary of the birth of Robert Burns. In recognition of this we have launched a commemorative range of engraved coasters and placemats.
