Disney CastleEurope's number one tourist destination – where dreams come true!

When Walt Disney opened the doors of Disneyland in California in 1955, his aim was to create a place where adults and children could "live the same dream".  Almost forty years later, this vision was extended to Europe with the opening of the Disneyland Park on April 12 1992 followed by Walt Disney Studios Park on March 16 2002.

Disneyland Paris is Europe’s leading tourist destination, with more than 200 million visits since its opening in 1992. The Resort includes two spectacular theme parks (Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park); seven Disney themed hotels with approximately 5,800 hotel rooms and an additional 2,400 hotel rooms; two full-service convention centres; and a 27-hole, world-class golf course.

Mickey’s Magical Party
The world’s best-loved Mouse welcomes everyone to a spectacular celebration at Disneyland Paris

Disneyland Paris is celebrating the year-long Mickey’s Magical Party, launched in April 2009. Mickey’s Magical Party is a star-studded occasion featuring new entertainment, a new attraction and special offers.

Guests will be able to participate in party games at It’s Party Time… with Mickey & Friends, where Mickey, Donald, Pluto, Goofy and Friends will demonstrate their favourite song & dance moves.  It’s Dance Time… in Discoveryland (Disneyland Park) will treat guests to a cutting edge mix of hip-hop and break beats hosted by the super cool DJ Stitch.

Minnie’s Party Train will be running along Main Street, U.S.A. (Disneyland Park) several times a day, where guests can meet and greet party girl Minnie’s best friends and best-loved characters.

Disney’s Stars ‘n’ Cars: every day at Walt Disney Studios Park stars from Aladdin to Disney Villains will roll up in their own customised vehicles. This is pure Disney creativity and magic – on four wheels ending in a giant meet and greet between guests and their favourite Characters on Place des Stars (Production Courtyard).

Playhouse Disney Live on Stage! An exciting new attraction (at Walt Disney Studios Park) that brings the Disney Channel hit TV show “Playhouse Disney” to life. Kids will be thrilled to share a genuine stage with Disney Channel Characters, including Handy Manny, Little Einsteins, the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Crew and more.

As part of the celebration, kids under 7 are getting a very special gift. During Mickey’s Magical Party, they can stay, play and travel with Eurostar for free.  From the 3rd April to 8th November 2009, one child travels free on Eurostar with each paying adult on the direct service to Disneyland Paris(1) plus free hotel accommodation – in any Disney and Selected & Associated hotels – and free entrance to both Disney Parks.

In addition to Mickey’s Magical Party entertainment line up for 2009, guests will also be able to experience all the array of fun at Disneyland Paris such as:

• The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror™* (Walt Disney Studios Park), a haunted hotel towering 13 stories tall.
• Stitch Live! (Walt Disney Studios Park) starring the mischievous, animated character Stitch in a live, interactive experience matching wits with the audience.

'It's Mickey's Magical Party this year at Disneyland Paris and everyone's invited!' There is no doubting the popularity of Mickey Mouse, he made a lasting impression on Annabelle, one of our junior reviewers when she met him last year. All she talks about is wanting to go back and see Mickey and she says goodnight to him every night. Disney brings out the child in all of us; their creativity and imagination is legendary and for this reason we are delighted to award Disneyland Paris this month’s Hot Brands Cool Places, Cool Place Award.
