SAINTLY DAYS- HONOUR THE LEGEND OF ST. GEORGE WITH ENGLISH HERITAGE -
English Heritage's countrywide St. George's Day events offer visitors the chance to enjoy the thrills and spills of St. George's famous battle and even put their own dragon fighting skills to the test.
Emily Burns from English Heritage explains why, year after year, visitors flock to the St. George's Day events at its historic properties, including Wrest Park, Bolsover Castle and Clifford's Tower. "The growing popularity of our St. George's Day events shows that, given half a chance, the English are just as keen as other British nations to celebrate their patron saint's day. The messages St. George's Day promotes, such as honour, chivalry and bravery, are all still important today, which is why people should be encouraged to celebrate."
All St George's Day events take place at English Heritage properties on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th April, so there's ample opportunity to join in the tribute to England's patron saint. These include the country's biggest battle at Wrest Park, as well as traditional falconry and equestrian displays, live theatre, historical markets, archery, minstrels and much, much more to showcase England's rich Heritage
