Fair Oak Farm is a country estate based in Mayfield, East Sussex which is available for exclusive hire. They offer nine different properties on the estate from spacious and quirky eco-lodge tree houses to a stunning farmhouse. The estate can sleep up to 36 guests, whilst business groups sleeps 15-20 at single occupancy (or more if sharing rooms) for a corporate team event.
The fabulously decorated Farm House sleeps 10-12 guests. The ground floor has a living area with open fire, separate reception room with sofas, fully equipped kitchen with Aga and separate oven leading on to an open plan dining room which opens on to the rear courtyard and large gardens. Upstairs, the first floor has four main bedrooms, two with ensuite bathrooms and the master bedroom also offers a walk-in dressing room. The second floor has two double beds.
The converted farm buildings surround a private courtyard with seating, fire pit and blossom trees. The Barn & Cow Shed, sleeping six across two double bedrooms and a twin bedroom, all with private ensuites, has a large open plan kitchen, dining and living area providing a social hub for groups and including large screen projector, lounge and dining seating. Stable Cottage and the Grain Store each sleep between two and four people, with sofa beds in each living area. They too have fully equipped kitchens, dining areas and private bathrooms.
Lastly the Eco-Lodge Tree Houses, converted Hay Barn and Shepherds’ Huts make for a truly unique experience. The two Eco-Lodge Tree Houses and Hay Barn are set in an ancient tree line and have stunning, uninterrupted views of the valley. Each sleeps two and have an open plan, studio living and sleeping space, fully equipped kitchen, wet room with walk-in shower and decked seating area outside perfect for soaking up the views and a spot of Alpaca watching. The two luxury Shepherds’ Huts, nestled in the orchard, each sleep two with a cosy living and sleeping area, kitchen, shower room and private outside seating area.
The surrounding countryside is great for leisurely walks and cycling. Golf courses and fishing locations can also be found nearby, along with a host of castles, beautiful gardens, National Trust properties, family attractions and the famous Ashdown Forest. A range of activities, such as falconry and bird handling sessions, quad biking, paint balling and lots more are available on site or close by.
The medieval village of Mayfield is just two miles away and has a small supermarket plus a butchers, deli and wine shop selling award winning local produce. The villages of Wadhurst, Heathfield and Ticehurst are also just 15 minutes away, while the spa town of Tunbridge Wells is 20 minutes away.
Fair Oak Farm encourages sustainable tourism practices, working closely with the local community to promote award winning local produce and has itself won several awards including the ‘Best Boutique Stay’ in the Sussex Muddy Stilettoes awards and a National Geographic nomination for a unique lodge of the world, of which there are only four in Europe.
